We are pleased to announce that GALLERY KOGURE now opens GALLERY KOGURE NY (in hpgrp gallery NY in Tribeca area) in 15, April 2016.
In New York City where gigantic galleries are lined up, we decided to open “the World’s smallest gallery”. Having small space is not a bad thing for art. As a leaf of a tree can tell you the impermanence of all things, a small piece of painting may change someone’s life. GALLERY KOGURE NY will express the limitless possibilities of its small space to propose intimate relationships between such quality works of art and the viewer.
Gallery Kogure was established in Tokyo in March 2006. It started projects in LOWER AKIHABARA that became its second space in Tokyo from January 2009. The director – Hiroshi Kogure – has been in art business for 30 years.
Artists with “the most delicate techniques”, “refined color senses”, “creativities beyond imagination”, and “designs that reach to the details”, who would mature in manners that are one step ahead of the time are the artists we value the most to introduce. In contemporary art, there is no need to mention that the individual originality is the lifeline of an artist, but we believe that the originalities of those contemporary artists who are interested in and learning from the grand antiquities and the excellent craftsmanship will never be carried away by the times.
