GALLERY KOGURE is pleased to announce the exhibition solo exhibition by Kazuyuki Takishita, celebrating the release of his sixth art book. Takishita has used his extraordinary skill to graphically portray various worlds, from the demon world in the Momotaro series to legends, deities, and, more recently, the world of legendary martial artists. Over the course of his 20-year career, he has created more than 4,500 paintings, and with sculptures included, his total works exceed 15,000 pieces. His characters are full of love, protecting and inspiring courage in people. In this exhibition, the demons play in the world of the traditional Japanese card game Hanafuda. We invite you to experience this unique and powerful collection.

1975 Born in Central Town, Kumamoto Prefecture (now Misato Town)
1991 Entered the Fine Arts Department of Kumamoto Prefectural Second High School
1994 Moved to Tokyo after graduating from high school
1995 Entered the Department of Design, Tokyo University of the Arts, after a year of preparation
2001 Graduated from the Graduate School of Tokyo University of the Arts (Major in Drawing and Decorative Design, Chikashi Nakajima’s studio)
2004 When Central Town was renamed to Misato Town, the town’s emblem designed by Takishita was adopted
2005 Dedicated himself to his career as an artist
2006 Guest appearance on TOKYO FM’s STYLE CAFÉ
2007 Appeared on NHK BS Hi-vision’s Tawaraya Sōtatsu – The Eternal Wind and Thunder Gods
2009-Present Actively published art books and picture books
