Kazuyuki Takishita Hanafuda Cards – Now Available.

Approximately six months after the Kazuyuki Takishita solo exhibition “Momotaro Series ~Flowery Hanafuda~,” held at our gallery in March 2025, we are pleased to announce the release of a long-awaited hanafuda card set.

Produced by Oishi Tengudo, a Kyoto-based company with a history dating back to the Edo period, this unique set reflects Takishita’s background in design from Tokyo University of the Arts. The result is a bold and refined interpretation of traditional Japanese playing cards.

Whether used for gameplay or simply displayed, these hanafuda cards evoke a sense of excitement and timelessness. The theme blends folklore-inspired imagery, traditional Japanese aesthetics, and the craftsmanship of a long-established maker. All 48 cards come beautifully presented in a custom-made paulownia wood box.
