この度、LOWER AKIHABARA.では、タイ人写真家／ヴィサルート・アンカタワニットの日本初個展を開催いたします。
1971年タイに生まれたヴィサルートは、チュラロンコン大学コミュニケーションアート科卒業後、バンコクを活動拠点としている写真家です。
商業写真家として20年間活動した後、自身のペットの魚をモチーフとした、彼の幼年期の記憶に触発されたプロジェクトを開始しました。
2013年以降、インターネット上で話題となった“Siamese Betta Fish”シリーズは、yahoo、英国のガーディアン紙、デイリーメール、タイ航空機内誌、ケンピンスキーホテルなど、高感度のウェブサイトや国際出版物に数多く掲載されました。
本展は、会期終了後、大阪・YOD Galleryに巡回します。

ヴィサルート・アンカタワニット Visarute Angkatavanich
Born in 1971 in Thailand.
He lives and works in Bangkok, Thailand.
Visarute is a commercial photographer who finds passion in exploring life photography in his spare time.
His photographic work of Siamese Betta Fish has earned him a sensational recognition locally and internationally.
The collection was recently featured in the UK’s Daily Mail and The Guardian as well as several international publications
such as Italy’s Vanity Fair, a cover of Thai Airways’ inflight magazine and etc.Visarute earned a bachalor degree in advertising from Chulalongkorn University.
Visarute’s artwork has been exhibited in Singapore, Hong Kong, and New York through an exclusive representation by La Lanta Fine Art.
